Hey there, folks! Welcome aboard My OSCP Odyssey, a blog through which I’ll be chronicling my quest to crack the OSCP exam within the next 365 days.
A bit about me: I’m a 24-year-old cybersecurity analyst and my job revolves around cybersecurity audit and compliance. I’m a complete newbie to ethical hacking, though my college days as a computer science major did give me some familiarity with the command line. My fascination with ethical hacking sparked after watching movies like The Matrix, The Social Network, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. With the illustrious OSCP certification as my goal, I’m charting my course from ground zero.
Now, as you can probably tell from the theme of my blog, I’m a bit obsessed with the Roman Empire. One lesson that resonates with me? That Rome wasn’t built in a day. So I’m giving myself a year to prepare for this notoriously difficult certification, hoping it’ll be enough.
I must admit, I’ve scoured the depths of the internet for similar accounts, with no luck. Most of the accounts that I found seem to have been written by people who had some prior experience, like CEH or something similar. So here we are, I’m hoping someone finds this useful!
Through this platform, I aim to not only share my victories but also the setbacks and insights I encounter along the way. I shall strive to provide detailed descriptions of my journey, from each step taken to every hiccup faced and overcome. These accounts would be available in the “Blog” section of the website and would be open to comments. So if you, dear reader, have any insights to share, feel free to drop a comment, I would love to hear from you!
My commitment? To keep you updated daily, barring unforeseen circumstances like travel or the occasional sniffle. Plus, I’ll sprinkle in glimpses of my life—upcoming conferences like RSA (which I attended a couple of months ago), hacking-related movies and TV shows on my radar, books I’ve read or plan to read, and more. Your suggestions are always welcome!
Cheers to the journey ahead!
Yours truly
