Today is the day I was to officially start working towards the certification. However, as luck would have it, I had a full day of meetings today and couldn’t get any free time until like 10 pm. I was determined to get something done however, so I finished the first module of the CompTIA Network+ course on Udemy (which isn’t saying much, that module consisted of only one video of 8 minutes, an introduction to the course). Tomorrow onwards though, I’m going to stick to the following study plan to make sure I’m on track to finish it by July 17th, as I mentioned in yesterday’s entry.
July 3 —> Module 1: Introduction
July 4 —> Module 2: Network Basics, Module 3: OSI Model
July 5 —> Module 4: TCP/IP Model, Module 5: Media and Cabling Distribution
July 6 —> Module 6: Ethernet Fundamentals, Module 7: IP Addressing
July 7 —> Module 8: Routing, Module 9: Network Services
July 8 —> Module 10: Wide Area Networks (WANs), Module 11: Wireless Networks
July 9 —> Module 12: Cloud and the Datacenter, Module 13: Network Security
July 10 —> Module 14: Network Attacks, Module 15: Security Technologies
July 11 —> Module 16: Network Hardening, Module 17: Network Availability
July 12 —> Module 18: Network Policies, Module 19: Network Management
July 13 —> Module 20: Troubleshooting Physical Networks, Module 21: Troubleshooting Wireless Networks
July 14 —> Module 22: Network Tools and Commands, Module 23: Troubleshooting Network Issues
July 15 —> Module 24: Conclusion, Module 25: Practice Exam
If I am able to follow this plan, I think I should be okay. This gives me 2 extra days as backup if I’m lagging behind on some days. Does it seem too ambitious? I’m kinda nervous but I feel that even if I’m not able to finish by my expected date, I would still be a lot further ahead than if I was to set no deadlines. Let’s see how this goes.
See you guys tomorrow!
